TWO showings of the film The People’s Emergency Briefing are taking place in the Henleaze area this month.
The 50-minute film about the climate crisis features Chris Packham, Jennifer Saunders and others. It was produced following a briefing in November 2025 to which over 1,200 leaders – including MPs, peers, and experts in science, business and national security.
It is now being screened across the country with time included for discussion and suggestions as to how people can respond to the issues locally.
Bristol North West MP Darren Jones is hosting a screening on September 5. He says: “Many constituents have contacted me about this film, so I’m pleased to have the opportunity to watch it for the first time with you.”
The film will be followed by a conversation between the MP and Dr Alix Dietzel, a climate justice and climate policy expert at the University of Bristol.

Meanwhile, another screening will take place at the Bradbury Hall, Waterford Road, Henleaze BS9 4BT on S Sunday September 20 from 5.30 – 7.30pm, organised by Trinity-Henleaze URC Church and St Peter’s Church, Henleaze.
