Golden Hill Sonics Football Club is celebrating the launch of its first girls-only team.
The club has been a successful fixture of community grassroots football since 2003. It provides FA accredited football coaching and matches for children aged 6 to 16yrs with an emphasis on fun and participation.
Sonics is run by a group of volunteers from the community and alongside its committee works to strengthen the club’s development programmes, increase inclusivity, and ensure Sonics remain a thriving hub for football lovers of all ages.
“We’re thrilled to be entering this new chapter for Sonics,” said Vanessa Edgell (Club Chairperson). “We define our success by the joy, inclusion, and opportunities we provide to local young people. The Lionesses’ recent success in the Euros has been truly inspiring, and it’s been fantastic to see the growing momentum behind women’s football. We believe providing a girls-only opportunity will be aspirational and build something meaningful for the future.”
Golden Hill Sonics are also proud to announce CJ Hole as their new official sponsor. George Mawer of CJ Hole said “Golden Hill Sonics are a dynamic local club that shares our values of community, teamwork, commitment, and passion. We are excited to cheer them on from the sidelines and be part of their journey for years to come. Here’s to a fantastic partnership and a bright future together. Up the Sonics!”
Golden Hill Sonics welcomes interest from any children looking to learn new football skills.
The girls team launch event are free taster sessions, run at 9.30am on September 21 at Golden Hill Sports Ground. Please register your interest at registrations@goldenhillsonics.co.uk Find out more at www.goldenhillsonics.co.uk or on Instagram: @goldenhillsonics
