Hospice talent on show

AN art exhibition at St Peter’s Hospice in Brentry will showcase inspiring work created by patients and the staff who care for them.

Taking place on Saturday October 4, the event is free to attend and will feature a diverse range of products from scenic paintings to handmade crafts, all available to purchase.

Funds raised will go towards supporting patients with life-limiting illnesses in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.

The event has been organised by the St Peter’s Hospice wellbeing service team. Manager Rachael James said: “The work on display at our art exhibition has all been lovingly created by the patients we care for during therapeutic sessions and the dedicated staff who support them.

“We’re so proud of the creativity and talent within our hospice community. This exhibition is not only a celebration of art but also of care and support. Every visitor who comes along is playing a part in helping us continue our work in Bristol and the surrounding area.”

The Wellbeing Service programme aims to provide a therapeutic environment, enabling patients to have an increased sense of confidence and empowerment in living with their illness. There are a range of groups delivered by the team that patients can access as well as a variety of volunteer led informal groups including arts and crafts sessions.

These sessions help patients not only in offering a safe and calming space to relax but also in terms of peer support and being around others who are experiencing similar things to them.

The art exhibition will take place from 10.30am until 4pm and is open to all. Entry is free but donations will be welcomed. For more information visit https://www.stpetershospice.org/support-us/join-our-events/hospice-art-exhibition/
