Flamingo Chicks, an award-winning inclusive dance charity, is seeking new volunteers in Bristol to help bring the joy of dance to disabled children and those with illnesses such as cancer.
The charity provides he opportunity to enjoy dance and movement in a fun, accessible way. Alongside this, Flamingo Chicks also offers peer support for parents and carers, opportunities for intergenerational volunteering, global outreach, and advocacy for inclusion.
Classes are short (just 45 minutes per week), led by a qualified Flamingo Chicks’ Dance Teacher and full volunteer training is provided. The charity is especially keen to hear from retired people who have an hour or more per week to spare. People who can drive are particularly welcome, as sessions run across Bristol.
In addition to supporting weekly classes, Flamingo Chicks is looking for volunteers who enjoy crafting and would like to make props and sensory items for the children to use in classes. They also seek a volunteer to help with admin in the office at Downs Park East, BS6, for a few hours a week.
