CoLlective Action on Smart Phones – CLASP

A Bristol support group for parents and grandparents

It is becoming ever more widely recognised that smart phone use in children and teenagers can have severely addictive and health-damaging effects, leading to social isolation and withdrawal, and compromising human relationships, not least with parents concerned for their children’s well-being who are trying to control phone use. Parents often feel hopeless about trying to tackle these problems on their own but together they can give each other the support and confirmation they need to find the solutions that improve their children’s lives.

CLASP wishes to supports all who are struggling with these and related issues. It subscribes to no fixed agenda, programme or judgements about the way forward but seeks to be an open forum offering actual (not on-line) face-to-face meetings for groups of parents and grandparents to discuss the problems and share possible strategies, information, remedies and alternatives to addictive phone usage.

This is the launch of a new initiative. If you would like to help us start a CLASP group here in Bristol, please write to the address or the email below and we will be in touch to arrange a time and place to meet.
