Hopes for improvements to park

PEOPLE living near the playground on an area of grass outside Horfield Leisure Centre have expressed concerns to local councillors regarding its current state of disrepair.

The ‘broken and tired’ play equipment is currently fenced off in parts and with no indications of when it will be replaced, has become an ‘embarrassment and an eyesore’.

Following a public question hearing at a Council meeting on March 10, Councillor Tom Renhard of Horfield Ward, who had raised the issue some months previously, updated on the situation: “The Council has said they will replace in the new financial year, although we are trying to pin the Council down on a more exact timeline rather than at some point between April 2026 and March 2027.”

Further information on developments is still to come.
