FOUR talented pupils from Sefton Park Juniors raised more than £100 for school funds by making and selling crochet animals.
Poppy, Ivy, Emily and Mara, who all live in St Andrews, worked for six months to create the creatures for the stall at the summer fair, making a selection of large and small beasts including cats, octopus, frogs and ducks.
Poppy said: “It was great having the fair as something to aim for because it has given us a challenge which has really improved our crochet skills.”
Poppy’s mum said: “I am really proud of the girls; they have worked so hard and learned not only crochet skills, but also business skills too.”
Harriet from the Sefton Park schools’ parent teacher association, which organised the fair, said: “We are hugely touched that the girls have generously decided to donate the money that they have raised through their craftwork to the PTA.
“All funds raised by the PTA go to the benefit of students at our wonderful school. Thank you for this lovely act of community spirit.”
