A 24-hour dance festival organised by the Flamingo Chicks charity transformed Bristol into a global celebration of movement, culture and connection.
The unforgettable, round-the-clock event brought together 342 participants aged 1 to 100 for a journey around the world, with a different dance style every hour – from Reggaeton and Bharatanatyam to Breakdancing, K-Pop, Forró and Flamenco
The event included virtual links between schools across the UK and collaborations with young people in Tanzania and care home residents Katherine House and Field House.

At its heart, the festival championed Flamingo Chicks’ mission: ensuring that disabled and non-disabled children and adults can dance side by side, building a true sense of belonging.
Katie Sparkes, founder and CEO of Flamingo Chicks, said: “The Flamingo Festival is all about inclusion, connection, confidence and making dance accessible to everyone. There’s huge energy in the room and a dance floor full of people proving just how powerful movement in any form can be,” explained
“This phenomenal feat was only possible thanks to an army of volunteers and corporate supporters who turned out in force, alongside the invaluable support of The National Lottery Community Fund. We truly appreciate the part everyone played in making this magic possible.”
Even in the early hours of the morning, the energy never faded, with participants embracing styles from House dance and Waacking to Japanese parasol dancing.
