AN initiative this month will put the spotlight on women’s mental health and improving mental wellbeing through football.
Rebound with Rovers is a free mental health football programme delivered by the Bristol Rovers Community Trust (BRCT). It supports adults (18+) experiencing depression, anxiety, or other mental health challenges. The programme provides a safe, welcoming environment for physical activity and social connection.
Held at Lockleaze Sports Centre, sessions consist of a fun, hour-long football activity, followed by a confidential ‘check-in’ where participants can share any concerns or discuss their progress with a fully qualified football coach and trained mental health first aider.
Run with backing from NHS North Bristol, Bristol Girls Can, Her Game Too, and the Gas Girls, the programme launches on June 3.
